
Control of avian influenza - general ruling issued
The Zweckverband Veterinär- und Lebensmittelüberwachungsamt Jena-Saale Holzland (ZVL J-SH) decrees
the following general ruling (extract):
- For all flocks with kept birds in the district of Saale-Holzland and the area of the independent city of Jena, the following is issued with immediate effect
- a) the confinement for keeping in closed stables or
- b) under a device which must consist of an overhanging, tight cover secured at the top against entry and a side boundary secured against the entry of wild birds.
- All livestock owners who have purchased poultry since March 1, 2021, in particular from the Schulte mobile poultry farm, must notify the Jena-Saale Holzland Veterinary and Food Monitoring Office (ZVL J-SH) immediately.
- All poultry farmers in the district of Saale-Holzland and in the area of the district-free city of Jena who have not yet fulfilled their obligation to report the poultry they keep must immediately report the keeping of poultry to the Jena-Saale-Holzland Veterinary and Food Monitoring Office.
- The immediate enforcement of the provisions set out in numbers 1 to 3 of the operative part is ordered in accordance with Section 80 (2) No. 4 of the German Code of Administrative Procedure (VwGO).
- This general ruling is issued subject to revocation and is valid until further notice.
- The general ruling shall take effect on the day following its public announcement.
- This order is issued free of administrative costs.
