Suspected outbreak of avian influenza in Jena and the Saale-Holzland district

The ZVL Jena-Saale-Holzland calls on all citizens to report to the veterinary and food monitoring office responsible for them if they have purchased poultry from Geflügelhof Schulte, Rudersdorfer Straße 1, 99510 Niederreißen in the period from 28.02.2021 to 20.03.2021. This applies to the purchase of laying hens, quails, waterfowl or other poultry. Citizens from Jena and the Saale-Holzland district should call 0049 36428 5409-840.

The outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza in poultry is suspected on the basis of the clinical examination and taking into account the current epidemiological findings. The whereabouts of the possibly infected animals cannot be conclusively clarified at the moment because the entries in the livestock trade control book are not complete.

We would also ask you to take the precautionary measure of stabling the poultry you keep.
